The Komarek Student Council came up with a unique fundraiser that gave the Komarek Administrators a chance to show their team spirit. Raffle tickets were sold for $1.00 or seven for $5.00. Each raffle ticket was entered into a drawing for a chance to throw a pie at Mr. Criscione, the Principal or Mr. Pellicci, the Superintendent. There 14 winners from both students and staff members. The big pie event took place during the Fun Fair held on the last day of school, Monday, June 2.

The Student Council raised over $500.00. Proceeds from the raffle will purchase Kindles for the Komarek Library. A big thank you goes to the Student Council, Mrs. Stalla, and the two Administrators for being such great sports!

Congratulations to the

Class of 2014!

The Class of 2014's theme:

Life is a song - sing it.     Life is a game - play it.

Life is a challenge - meet it.     Life is a dream - realize it.

Life is love - enjoy it.

Mrs. Wach’s Classroom in collaboration with Ms. Christine, the Occupational Therapist, performed several presentations of their skit, Green Monster Smoothie to Komarek students and staff during the last week of May. In the short skit the students demonstrated their knowledge of self-regulation and the importance of having a "Just Right Engine" for good behavior and alertness for learning.

In addition to exploring the importance of good health, the group focused on many academics such as, measuring, graphing, word analysis, reading and the importance of good handwriting. A big thanks to the amazing crew behind the scenes that helped bring it altogether.

. . . Sometimes my engine runs high. Sometimes my engine runs slow - sometimes my engine runs JUST RIGHT. There are things I can do to change my engine - put something in my mouth - take a big deep breath-move and push and pull, march and twirl jump, jump, jump, - brighten up my room - listen to some tunes-that will make my engine feel JUST RIGHT.

Great Job!
